Omiya has long been a major junction in Saitama. When Tohoku Shinkansen was put into operation in 1982, the city literally became the transport and trade center of Saitama. Onari Junior High is located at 1 km to the north west of Omiya station.
The school area is divided by National Highway No. 17. One side of the road is commercial, the other side residential. The school is a small sized and quiet school with 405 students in 12 classes.
We will soon celebrate our 50th anniversary. Among middle high schools in Omiya, we are ranked to be a school with a history and traditions.
In collaboration with our sister school, a state school in Pennsylvania, U.S.A, we are now practicing international education exchanges.
