Greetings

May 1998
Please allow me to express my heartfelt wish for a pleasant spring season and to announce the upcoming International Symposium '98 on Schools and the In ternet , which will be held on July 1st (Wed.) and 2nd (Thu.) , 1998.

This symposium will invite representatives from key overseas network user groups and Asian activists to exchange information and opinions with other participants. It will also be an excellent opportunity for educators to implement future international exchanges.

At the same time, it will present opportunities for teachers from other countries and others to report on specific issues, including the details of network use in schools and other educational institutions.

It is our hope that educators wishing to utilize networks to share and exchange information will also find the symposium a vital forum , as we continue to make the event an "international information relay base" regarding educational network use.

By gathering those in the education field for discussion, information exchanges and, best of all ,personal interaction, this year's symposium promises t o be an unprecedented success.

Your active participation in the symposium would be greatly appreciated.

Yours sincerely,
Tatsuoki Miyajima, Chairman
