Overview

Symposia

Symposia on the practical use of the Internet were held with the aims to study into application technologies for Internet use in education, to practical research on Internet use at schools of various types, and to exchange informations about Internet use in education. The expected participants were members of organizations which concerned themselves to the educational use of networks.
In 1995 school year, a total of 10 symposia were held. One each at six different locations to cover the nation, and one each to cover the four different school types of primary, junior high, senior high and special education schools.
The majority of the attendants were from such educational administrations as the boards of education. The contents of the symposia are shown below.

Conferences

At the end of each school years, an annual conference was held with the aim to share and spread in the educational world the practiced outcomes of studies into network use in education. Invitations to the conference were sent to member schools, local network councils, collaborators of this project, and all others in various fields who might have interests in the subject.
The first part of the conference program was a collection of sectional meetings by different school types at separate rooms, where case studies and presentations took place. The second part was an assembly, where the project report was made and a panel discussion took place. In the evening, an information exchange session was held.
